Diane Klasen, 87, of Bemidji, MN died Thursday, February 5, 2026 Colleen’s Caring Hands, Bemidji.
A gathering of family and friends will be 2-4 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji with a farewell by Pastor Terry Bernstrom at 3:30 p.m.
Diane Caroline Berglund Klasen was born May 12, 1938 to Warner and Lucille (McKlusky) Berglund in Bemidji. She lived her entire life except for 4 years in Finland and Duluth. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Nymore Lutheran Free Church. She was married to Raymond Lawrence Klasen on January 11, 1958. They had two children, Randy and Raeanne.
She worked at the Bemidji Hospital, Sears, Netzer Floral and retired after working as the secretary at J.W. Smith Elementary School for 29 years.
Diane was a member of Our Redeemers Lutheran Church in Puposky. She served on the church council, member of WELCA and helped make many blankets for the Linus Project. She was a volunteer at the Bemidji Community Food Shelf.
She is survived by her son Randy (Debra) and granddaughter Jillian; daughter Raeanne (Lee) Thurston and grandchildren Lindsey and Alex; sister Jean Olson; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; infant brother, Douglas; brother, Bruce Berglund; nephew Tom Olson.
Her last year was spent at Colleen’s Caring Hands where she received amazing care and the staff became like her second family.
Memorials are preferred to the Bemidji Community Food Shelf.
